Jewish Heritage Tour from the Douro Valley
After pick up in the Douro Valley, your tour begins with a drive to the small medieval town of Penedono, featuring its majestic medieval castle. In its shade there is a lot of evidence of the New Christians presence and brands ranging from the cruciforms on the doors to other architectural elements.
We then continue our drive to the town of Trancoso. Trancoso predates to the reign of Dom Pedro I, who gave, for the first time, in 1364, Jewry apart, located at the "street of half the village where they had always lived" (LIPINER, 1996:29). There are around 150 religious marks accounted for, from which stands out Hebrew inscriptions and a cruciform mark with the Hebrew letter from the word "S'hadai" = D'us (God) and the branches representing the twelve tribes of Israel.

- 14 to 7 days prior to the tour: 20% refund.
- Less than 7 days: No refund*.
*Note: If travelling on a cruise ship which does not dock for some reason, a full refund will be made.
