Depart from Lisbon en route to Evora, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you will enjoy the beautiful and bucolic landscape of olive and cork trees and rolling vineyards. Arriving in Évora, this walking tour will visit the most important monuments; the Temple of Diana, the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, Saint Francis Church and the infamous "Bone Chapel”. You will have the opportunity to admire the diversity and authenticity of the local handicrafts including cork, ceramic and copper pieces with some free time to stroll around before indulging in a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
On your way to Monsaraz, you will stop at the pottery village of S. Pedro do Corval to discover its wares. Monsaraz, considered one of the most beautiful historical villages in Portugal, was originally fortified by the Knights Templar. This tiny fairytale walled village maintains its delightful medieval atmosphere with whitewashed houses amongst 16th and 17th century monuments, the granite Castle and the stunning view over the biggest artificial lake in Europe – Alqueva. To complete this tour, you will experience a local winery to taste the award winning Alentejo wine and tour the estate. Relax on the return trip to Lisbon.
