Portugal Tour - 5 Days 

DAY 1 -Arrival to Porto or Lisbon

Your private guide, Miguel, will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. Free leisure time (option: traditional Fado Dinner).  

DAY 2 - Lisbon, Estoril, Cascais & Sintra

In the capital city of Lisbon, one of the first sites you will see is the April 25th Suspension Bridge, sister to the Golden Gate, and the towering Christ the King Statue. We will venture through the main squares and avenues with a short walking tour in the old district of Alfama. Continuing to Belém where we visit the Jeronimos Monastery, the Tower of Belém and taste the famous "Pasteis de Belém" Lisbon’s pastry delicassei.   

In the afternoon, we will drive along the scenic coastal road to Estoril and Cascais, Portugal's first premier seaside resorts, where we will enjoy a traditional lunch.  Making our way to Sintra, a UNESCO world heritage site and considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Portugal. Visit the historical center and the breathtaking 14th century Sintra Palace, once the summer residence of early Portuguese kings and aristocrats. There will be some free time for exploring the town.  

DAY 3 - Óbidos,  Fátima & Coimbra

Travel to the spiritual grounds of Fatima, the so-called Lourdes of Portugal which, according to Roman Catholicism, is the site of miracles. Explore the area around the world-renowned basilica with its spectacular stained-glass windows and paintings.  

Continuing to Óbidos, once the wedding present for the queen and one of Portugal's most classic walled settlements. Walking the ramparts, guests can enjoy views of windmills, vineyards and surrounding farmlands.  

Completing the tour, you will visit the city of Coimbra, boasting one of the oldest universities in Europe and a rich historical centre. Drive to Porto to overnight there.  

DAY 4 - Porto

In Porto, discover and taste the beauty and history of the city, designated World Heritage Culture by UNESCO for its historical centre as well as its world renowned port wine, as well as being voted “Best European Destination 2012”.  You will visit the Historic Centre, Sé Cathedral, Clérigos Church and Tower, Lello Bookshop, São Bento Train Station, Stock Exchange Palace and Ribeira Square (trendy esplanade set on the river, the most beautiful spot in the city) where you will enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch.

In the afternoon, cross the Douro River on the Eiffel inspired Dom Luis Bridge to visit a famous port wine cellar for a tour and tasting.  

DAY 5 - Guimarães & Braga

Starting in Guimarães, known as the "Cradle of Portugal" and designated “European Capital of Culture 2012”, you will visit the historic centre, the Palace of the Dukes and the 12th Century Castle. 

In the afternoon we will drive to the city of Braga which has a remarkable collection of religious architecture.  Tour concludes upon return to the hotel or with a transfer to the airport in Porto or Lisbon, depending on guests’ itinerary.
