Some four million people visit Fatima each year, drawn by apparitions of the Virgin Mary reported by three local shepherd children in 1917. Explore the Shrine of Our Lady Fatima including the world renowned Basilica with its spectacular stained glass windows and paintings, the Chapel of Apparations, Statutes of the visionaries of Fatima and the Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Head west to Batalha to visit the magnificent 14th century Gothic church of Santa Maria da Victoria then continuing to Alcobaça where you will witness the 12th century medieval Roman Catholic Monastery founded by the first king of Portugal, Dom Afonso Henrique.

After exploring there, head to Batalha to visit yet another architectural marvel, the 14th century gothic church of Santa Maria da Victoria. The last stop is in Alcobaca to witness the 12th century monastery founded by the first king of Portugal, Dom Afonso Henriques. This tour concludes upon return to Porto (or alternative city as previously arranged with guide).
