Coimbra (UNESCO) & Bairrada Wine Tasting Tour
Depart the pier or hotel by private van to Coimbra. Located in the central-north of Portugal, birthplace of six kings and the seat of Portugal's first university, reputedly the second-oldest in the world. We will visit the University and then we continue exploring this city on foot and stopping at Coimbra's ancient Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in Portugal. We will then have a short drive to Mealhada a famous village for a tasting of regional dishe 'leitao' (roast suckling pig).In the afternoon we will then make a stop in one of the famous wineries of Bairrada wine region for a visit and tastings of this Doc wines. The region is known for its deep colored tannic red wines that often have bell pepper and black currant flavors as well its emerging rosé production.Many of the white grapes from Bairrada are used in the production of sparkling wine. Your tour concludes upon returning to the ship or hotel.

Depart Porto to Coimbra where you will you will visit the university and the city historic city centre. Stop in Mealhada for lunch for a traditional dish then continuing to an award winning winery for a tour and tasting. Your tour concludes upon a relaxing drive back to Porto.

- Less than 7 days: No refund*.
*Note: If travelling on a cruise ship which does not dock for some reason, a full refund will be made.
